Good question. Although somewhat of a cliché the title intent is to let readers know that there is a lot of good in the work-comp system, but unfortunately there are also bad and sometimes very ugly aspects. The book points out many facets of the bad/ugly, which is found in almost every major participant category. Plus, there are suggestions how the system might be improved.
2.Will this book give readers the full statutory and administrative rules of every single state?
Sorry, but no. In fact, assuming that at minimum, the combined statues and administrative rules of most states would be at least a ½ inch thick, to provide one volume for all states would likely be a book two feet high. Further, states laws and rules change rather frequently. HOWEVER, what the book does provide is information about how to obtain the rules of your state and very importantly it explains the frequent and common methodology of computing benefits. Being knowledgeable in these areas will enable any reader to determine if their benefits are correct.
3.Can we write you for assistance about our specific work-comp issues?
ABSOLUTELY! I would welcome any questions and I will do my utmost to respond as clearly as possible. However, I am not an attorney, so I cannot give legal advice. But based upon many years of experience in this business, I certainly can offer input and suggestions.
4.Why isn’t the book available in my local bookstore yet?
I did submit my book proposal to a number of national publishing houses. Most of those who were interested in the book, simply felt there was not a large enough market. In other words they didn’t think there were enough people who wanted to learn and understand all about workers’ compensation insurance.
Because workers' compensation affects almost every employer and many employees, I think they are mistaken. I believe once I have achieved a reasonable volume of sales that one of the larger publishers will pick up the book for national distribution. In the interim, I am responsible for marketing the book.
Currently, the book is available in a limited number of stores; can be ordered through this web site , or by email or through the independent publisher: Luminate Publishing
